Merry Christmas!

As per the Dutch tradition in my family, our kris kindle gifts come with some fun rhyme. I received my younger brother this year and attempted the acrostic style. The first letter of each verse spells his name. Merry Christmas all!

Three wise men from the dark of night

Bring gifts for you today

A star shines bright upon our king

You are cradled in gold hay

Hark! The herald angels sing

Your unemployment ends

More stars are born, so make your wish

We hear all church bells ring

Only but the best degree

Pass? Merit? No! Distinction. Please!

A genius king, you wear your crown

So let us now all bow

Merely not a scientist just

But also an engineer

A writer, reader, thinker, joker

We lay our palms before you

And stars shine bright above your life

Your tunes seal wedding vows

For all you have achieved lately

We blow our trumpets high

Sing your song and dance your dance

Let the dough begin to roll

The stories of your prodigy

Will forevermore be told!
